Team #14: Coosa Eagles

The Eagles finished the 2023 season at 3-7 after starting out 3-1. They have a new man at the helm this season in Head Coach Geoff Cannon. He coached the last 6 seasons at Brantley Co, leading the Blue Herons to the post season in 3 of those years.

3 Names to Know

’25 OLB Harrison East

The 6’1 210 1st Team All Region LB (’23) is a player I have personally enjoyed watching since seeing him vs Gordon Central his Soph season. A field General that plays with a lot of passion. Had 70 TT with 24 TFL last season, while forcing 2 fumbles.

’26 RB/LB Haygen Cawthon

The 5’10 200 RB/LB has size and speed. Had 63 TT last season for the Eagles. Physical and has the athleticism to cover RB and WRs in the passing lanes. Good football IQ and is prone for a breakout season in ’24.

’25 RB Jy Turner

Big things come in small packages. The 5’4 155 RB was 2nd Team All Region in ’23. Explosive and physical. Has a strong base and would just as well run through you than around you. Good vision and hits holes quickly. Big senior season on tap.
