3 Names to Know in ’24: Dade Co Wolverines

Over the next few weeks we will highlight 3 names to know from each of the 54 teams we cover at NwGaFootball.

Team #15: Dade County Wolverines

Dade County was 6-6 in 2023, making it to the 2nd round of the playoffs for only the 3rd time in school history. Head Coach Jeff Poston is entering his 5th season at the helm and the Wolverines have accomplished some milestones in his 1st 4 years. 3 straight playoff trips for the 1st time in school history and 3 straight 6 or more-win seasons, which is also a historical best.

3 Names to Know in ’24

’25 Bryson Shrader QB:

The 6’1 160 Shrader stepped in last season as QB1. Passed for over 1300 yards with 18 total TDs. Passed for 3 TDs and added a rushing TD in the Wolverines 1st Round win over Mt. Pisgah. Dade will rely on his leadership this Fall.

’25 Demetrius Walker WR

Dade lost a lot of production at the WR spot to graduation and the 5’10 Walker will have to be the man to step up this year as Shrader’s primary target downfield. The speedy WR had 434 total yards last season with 5 TDs.

’26 Levi Raines DL

Not your prototypical DL size wise at 6’0 185 but the kid can play. Long armed, intense competitor was named 1st Team All Region his freshman and sophomore year. If there is one guy on the roster that signifies Dade County football it has to be Raines, hard nosed and gritty.
