Team #21: Gilmer Bobcats
The Bobcats had their best season in a decade in 2023 going 7-5 and winning their 1st playoff game since the 2013 season. Legendary Head Coach Paul Standard enters his 3rd season and Elijay and the Bobcats bring back a solid core of players from last year’s team.
3 Players to Know in ’24
’25 QB Issac Rellinger: The dual threat QB ran that option offense well last season. He totaled just over 1200 yards passing/rushing combined and scored 14 TDs. Impressive individual numbers in an offense that pride itself on having a large number of contributors.
’25 RB Wyatt Stokes: The 1st Team All Region RB and the Bobcats 2023 rushing leader is back for his Senior season. Stokes led Gilmer with 722 rushing yards with 5 TDs last Fall. The 5’10 190 Stokes is a load to bring down out of that FB spot.
Triple Young Fellas
Shout out to 3 underclassmen that have the potential to have great high school football careers in Elijay. 5’10 rising Junior Hunter Britain was 3rd on the team in rushing last Fall with 500 yards and 6 TDs on just 67 carries. A pair of Freshman, Peyton Chancey and “Bubba ” Callihan, combined for 749 yards and 9 TDs.
