NEGA Recruits put on a top notch All Star game Saturday at Pinecrest Academy in Cumming. The game featured some of the top 2027 talent in the Atlanta Metro Area , with a few ’28 thrown in. As the name says, most of the participants were from the NE Georgia area but we had a few of the teams that we cover in NWGA represented.
Bly James ’28 Calhoun
James was one of the few ’28s that participated in the game but he showed no intimidation matched up with older and bigger competition. Was named a Top 10 finalist in the 1v1 by the coaching staff during practice on Saturday and was awarded the Top OL/DL award for the game on Sunday, big honor considering the all the future P4 guys that were playing. The coaches raved all weekend about his off field demeanor and his willingness to learn and ask question. We look forward to following this kid for the next 4 years at Calhoun. Follow Bly on X.
Jaxon Totherow ’27 Union Co
Union Co is new school that we are following here at NWGA Football for the 2024 season and I admittingly don’t know much about them but after seeing Totherow this weekend I’m excited to learn. The 6’4 235 OL played mostly the DE spot at the event. Good size, solid base, gets off the ball quick and is aggressive. Held his own vs bigger guys in the 1v1 earning a Top 10 pick by the coaches. Bryson Jenkins ’27 OL Bremen
Jenkins was very impressive in game action on Sunday. Good size at 6’4 290. Moves his hands and feet well and shows good strength. Plays for an outstanding program at Bremen that has a record of developing guys who want to play at the next level. Jenkins has the potential and we look forward to following his high school career for the next 3 years. Follow Bryson on X.
Jessie Addison ’27 Pickens
The 6’2 210 TE/DE was one of the new names that impressed me over the weekend. Aggressive from the DE spot and out quicked a lot of bigger defensive lineman. Was real aggressive in the game, almost too aggressive at times lol. Showed great potential and look forward to following him and his fellow Dragons this Fall. Follow Jessie on X.
Gilmer Duo
Peyton Chancey (5’11 185 RB/LB) and Douglas “Bubba” Callihan (6’0 205 RB/LB)
The Bobcat duo was flying all over the field in Sundays game. Both play with a lot of passion and emotion and love to hit. Both have great builds with a solid base and can move side to side and North to South well. Chancey had a few good runs from the RB spot on Sunday against a tough defense. Two hard nosed kids that will play at the next level. NWGAFootball looks forward to having the opportunity to see more of them this Fall. Follow Peyton on X Follow Bubba on X
Brody Craig ’27 Sequoyah
Technically not in our coverage Area but close enough to give a mention. The 6’4 270 OT was the talk of the camp jumping on everyone’s radar. Great technician with size. We look forward to following him in his high school career. Follow Brody on X
